Background and Aim: Adolescence is a sensitive and decisive period in the formation of self-control and self-regulation capacities, where moral intelligence can influence the growth path of adolescents as a key factor. The aim of this study was to predict female adolescents' self-control and self-regulation based on their moral intelligence.
Research Methods:The present study is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of descriptive nature correlational and predictive. The statistical population consisted of all female students of the ninth year of the first high school in Tehran in the academic year 2023-2024. The sample size was calculated based on Klein criterion of 335 people and the sample group was selected using random and multi-stage cluster sampling method.Ethical intelligence questionnaire (Lenick and Kiel, 2005), self-regulation (Bofard, 1995) and self-control (Tanji, 2004) were used to measure the studied variables. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simultaneous and multivariate stepwise regression and SPSS-27 software.
Results : The results of the analysis showed that the variable of moral intelligence predicts 15% of the variance of self-control and 6% of the variance of self-regulation in a positive and significant way (p <0.01). Moral intelligence could also predict 21% of the variance of self-regulation and self-control in adolescents (p <0.01).
Discussion : Overall, the results of this study show that moral intelligence can predict self-control and self-regulation in female adolescents.
