Abstract:   (7 Views)
Autistic children have special problems related to this disorder, which can cause behavioral and psychological abnormalities for these children. The aim of this study is to predict aggression based on sleep problems and executive functions in autistic children in Tehran in 2018. It was 2021. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population included all children with autism spectrum disorder in three centers of Tehran city with a volume of 118 people who were selected as samples. The data were collected using the Children's Aggression Questionnaire (Parent Form) by Vahidi et al. (2007), the Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) by Owens, Spirito, and McGuinen (2000) and the Executive Functions Questionnaire (BRIEF) by Gerrard et al. (2000). They were collected and analyzed with the statistical method of correlation matrix and multiple regression with SPSS-23 software. Findings: The results of the correlation matrix showed that there is a positive relationship between aggression and the components of sleep problems and a significant negative relationship with the components of executive functions. The results of multiple regression showed that the components of working memory were β=0.111, emotional control β=0.120, inhibition β=0.128, resistance to sleep β=0.132, night awakening=0.140. β, sleep anxiety β=0.179, insomnia β=0.350 have been able to predict aggression in autistic children. According to the obtained results, it is suggested to reduce the amount of sleep problems of autistic children as much as possible and to use useful interventions to strengthen the executive functions of these people in order to see the reduction of behavioral problems such as aggression.
